Most of us have our wisdom teeth out during our mid to late teen years.  I still remember getting my taken out by the oral surgeon. In fact, I remember be awake enough to remember the order in which they took them out and the crunching noise of each tooth being removed. Ahhh…don’t you just love dental medicine?

Well, Rachel’s teeth didn’t come in till after we got back in 2002, and then they didn’t start causing her trouble and pain till she was pregnant with Josiah. That’s when we found out that they won’t do the surgery on a pregnant or nursing mother. Great. Well, we scheduled the surgery numerous times, but each time it had to be cancelled because she was pregnant AGAIN.

We’re done having kids, no really, we’re done; we’re not just saying that. And Reuben was weened in March. So, on June 24, at 7am, Rachel had all four teeth taken out, thankfully, only one was impacted.

She started complaining of more pain on Monday and Tuesday. On Thursday (the 30) she went in because of more pain, turns out she had two dry sockets on the bottom, ugh! Now packed full of medicine, and a new prescription, she’s feeling better, but leery.

This has not been a fun thing for our family, or easy, like when most of us had this done as teenagers. Unfortunately, I, nor anyone else who had this done then, remembers what it was like or how long recovery took. AND none of us had four children under the age of seven to take care of.

Please keep us in your prayers, especially Rachel.
